Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of data, which match what we declare in the App Store:

  • Name: the name you provide for your profile.
  • Email Address: the address you use to create an account, sign in, or contact support.
  • User ID: an internal identifier for your account so we can operate the Service (friends, chats, settings).
  • Precise Location: device GPS, only if you grant permission. We may use it to estimate distance to other users, to center the map on you, or—if you tap “Use current area”—to suggest a neighborhood name. We also store places you choose (profile neighborhood and Free time place). Map pins show a chosen Free time place, not a live GPS track.
  • Emails or Text Messages: messages you send and receive in chats (including group chats).
  • Photos or Videos: profile photos and photos or videos you send in chats.
  • Audio Data: voice messages you record and send in chats, if you allow microphone access.
  • Crash Data: diagnostic information if the app crashes or becomes unstable, so we can fix bugs.

You can decline device location and microphone permission. Some features (for example voice notes or distance) will not work without them. You can use the Service without setting a Free time place; then you will not appear as a pin on the map.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:

  • • Providing and maintaining the Service
  • • Creating and managing your account
  • • Delivering chats, including text, photos, videos, and voice notes
  • • Communicating with you about the Service
  • • Improving and personalizing your experience
  • • Showing approximate distance to other users
  • • Showing your chosen Free time place on the map to people who can see you
  • • Diagnosing crashes and improving reliability
  • • Ensuring security and preventing fraud
  • • Complying with legal obligations

3. Location and the map

You can decline device location permission. The Service still works without it: you can pick a place by search, and friends can appear on the map at a Free time place they chose.

  • Map pins: We show people on the map only when they have set a Free time place. That pin is the chosen place (a venue or neighborhood), not a live GPS track of where they are right now.
  • Use current area: If you tap this when creating or editing Free time, we use your GPS once to suggest a neighborhood name. You can clear it or pick another place.
  • Distance: If you grant location permission, we may use your device location to estimate how far other users are (for example in the friends list). Your home or neighborhood from your profile may also be used for distance.
  • Chat: You can send a one-off location pin in a conversation. That is not shown to everyone on the map.
  • Blocking: You can block other users so they cannot interact with you.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • • With your explicit consent
  • • To comply with legal obligations
  • • To protect our rights and safety
  • • In connection with a business transfer
  • • With service providers who assist our operations

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights

You have certain rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal information
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal information
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured format
  • Objection: Object to processing in certain circumstances
  • Location: Turn off location permission in device settings, and clear or change your Free time place at any time
  • Blocking: Block other users in the app (profile and Settings → Privacy and Security → Blocked Users)

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience with our Service. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

8. Third-Party Services

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

We use map and place search providers (including Mapbox) to show maps, search for places, and turn coordinates into a neighborhood or venue name. Those providers process the location or search queries needed for that feature.

We use diagnostics providers (including Datadog) to collect crash and performance data so we can keep the Service stable. Sign-in may use third-party authentication (such as Google or Apple). Push notifications may use Apple or Google notification services.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will take steps to delete such information and the associated account.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
